IDAHO 2009 - Tate Modern and Millenuim Bridge Click a picture to start the gallery
Sunday 17 May was the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO). The House has a pretty busy day of it with an early start on the Thames River Bus to Tate Modern (and thank you Sister Cuminja for your impromptu gala performance of the Swine Flu Dance) to join Lambeth LGBT Forum and the Met Police.
We were asked to think the millions of men and women around the world still suffering from political, religious and social homophobia - particularly pertinent since only the day before Peter Tatchell and others had been arrested in Moscow following the banned Pride March. Russia may have decriminalised same sex relationship, but they still have a LONG way to go! Petals were dropped of the Millennium Bridge in memory of our brothers and sisters who have been beaten, imprisoned, torchered or murdered for simply being who they were.
